Gin Lover Christmas Gift Guide 2018

Gin Lover gift guide

There is nothing I love more than a good gin. Having spent the past year either pregnant or breastfeeding alcohol has been entirely off the table, but the only thing I have really missed is a nice gin cocktail especially during the summer months! When I think about it, the majority of people I know share my obsession with all things gin and I’m always trying to source different gin inspired gifts, so this year I have decided to put them all together in this gift guide perfect for any gin lover.

Palmers London Dry Gin & Strawberry & Rose Celebration Gin

Since 1920 the Palmer family have been distilling spirits in the West Midlands at Langley Distillery which is home to what they believe is the UK’s oldest working copper pot gin still!! Each of their seven copper gin stills has been named either after Palmer’s family members or people who have previously worked at the distillery.

Palmers dry gin

When the Palmer family entered their 200th year of distilling to celebrate they created Palmers London Dry Gin which I would say is the perfect gin for any gin lover. It’s a classic gin that is bottled at 44% and made with 7 botanicals:

  • Juniper Berries
  • Coriander Seeds
  • Angelica Root
  • Cassia Bark
  • Liquorice Root
  • Orris Root
  • Grapefruit

I’d describe it fresh and clean without being sharp to taste making it a great accompaniment with a good quality tonic and a slice of lime. It drinks easily even for those new to the wonders of gin.

Palmers Strawberry & Rose gin

If you are on the lookout for a gin more fruity and sweet in flavour, then Palmers Strawberry & Rose Celebration Gin is perfect. Distilled with British rose petals and strawberries, it has a lovely clean floral taste.

Palmers Strawberry & Rose Celebration Gin has an RRP of £28.00.

Designs by Lolita

It’s true that gin just tastes better in a proper glass and my absolute favourite gin glass at the moments are the gorgeous hand painted stemless glasses from Lolita.

Lolita glass

These have to be the most gorgeous glasses packed with the complete wow factor making them the perfect accompaniment to a good old-fashioned gin & tonic or an ever special gin cocktail. Each glass is mouth blown and then hand painted using non-toxic food grade paint. What makes them special is that every glass will have unique variations making them truly one of a kind.

Demi John Gooseberry Gin Liqueur 17%

I will openly admit that gooseberries are just not for everyone. Personally, I adore them, and they remind me of childhood summers spent at my grandparent’s farm. Whether gooseberries are your thing or not this Gooseberry Gin Liqueur is hard not to like. It has a smooth and fruity taste that is delicious served over ice with tonic. Demi John always have the coolest bottle shapes too which really make the gin liqueur stand out!

Rock Rose – Winter Edition

My new favourite the Rock Rose – Winter Edition gin is the perfect winter warmer and one a gin lover will be sure to appreciate. The gin is stripped back, and the main focus is on the botanical spruce tips (how festive is that!) which give the gin a real earthy flavour reminiscent of winter woodland walks and cosy evenings. This gin would be the perfect accompaniment for any Christmas parties and makes a lovely tipple on a cosy Sunday evening!

Gin and Tonic R-evolution

I love a good old fashioned G & T with ice and a slice, and it is often what a gin lover fell in love with first however since exploring my love of gin I am partial to a bit of experimentation, and the Gin and Tonic R-evolution kit is perfect for just that. This molecular mixology kit teaches you how to make deconstructed gin and tonic, gin and tonic burst in your mouth bubbles, a cloud of gin and tonic and your very own homemade tonic syrup.

It’s fun, exciting and adds an entirely different spin on the classic gin and tonic. The kit is priced at £29.95 and can be found on the Sous Chef website.

Chambord

Chambord black raspberry liqueur is excellent in many drinks, but there is something I just adore about Chambord and gin. Together these two ingredients can make the best tasting cocktails and transform an ordinary beverage into something much more special. You can check out some simple yet super delicious recipes on the Chambord website here.

Gin Lover gift guide

Chambord is available in a special 20cl winter pack from Tesco and most other supermarkets with an rrp of £8.00, and for the holiday season, it is available in a 50cl bottle available from Tesco or *Amazon with an rrp of £18.00.

KWV Cruxland Gin

Now if you are looking for a real gin treat, then it has to be KWV Cruxland Gin available from Morrisons. This 100% double distilled grape spirit is infused with the rare Kalahari truffles from South Africa as well as other complimenting botanicals such as honeybush and rooibos. It is a really special gin that drinks well and is sure to impress!

COCO Chocolatier Gin & Tonic

Alongside gin, I have a special love for all things chocolate so of course when I heard about Gin & Tonic Chocolate, I couldn’t wait to give it a try! This 61% single origin dark chocolate contains aromatic lemon and lime oils which give it a refreshing and unique flavour.

It comes in an 80g bar and is both vegan and gluten free which is music to my ears because I am currently on a dairy-free diet! Find out more and purchase your very own bar here.
