Christmas is all about children and the magic that they believe but finding a gift they will truly love is no easy task! There is an abundance of children’s gifts on the market and although it depends exactly who your recipient is as to what will appeal most it’s all in all quite overwhelming. I could write for hours about all the gifts on the market that stood out to me this year, but I have narrowed it down to a few I think would be great “under the tree” additions. I hope it helps!
Something to Play With
Kids love toys they can play with, and in a world where you can do everything on a tablet device, it’s nice to find toys that provide good quality screen-free time too! PLAYMOBIL is iconic in its own right, and I always had at least one set on my Christmas list each year. Even today, they are big hits amongst my own children and family members. I find PLAYMOBIL sets are perfect for inspiring the imagination, and they have such an abundance to choose from there is something for everyone. My Christmas pick from them this year has to be the Tiny Paws Pet Hotel. This set comes with a vast range of different pets perfect for any animal lover. RRP £59.99.
The PLAYMOBIL Figures are the perfect blind bag stocking filler. Each pack comes with the element of surprise as there is no way of knowing which one you will get. You can also mix the pieces from each character to create an entirely new character – making the options endless! RRP £1.99.
If you don’t know the Baby Shark song by Pink Fong then frankly you must have been living under a rock for the past year! Both of my children are obsessed, and I think they have more than somewhat contributed to the 3.3 billion views the video has had! If you know a Baby Shark fan, then they can now have their very own Baby Shark puppet that plays the entire Baby Shark song!! There are three soft plushes to collect, and you can even control the beat by moving the mouth of the puppet faster or slower. RRP £19.99. Available from Argos & Smyths.
In my Christmas gift guides last year, I featured Plus-Plus – little-shaped pieces that fit together to form whatever artistic creation a child can think of. There are endless creations to be made with Plus-Plus from 2D works of art to 3D characters that your little ones can bring to life. Since featuring Plus-Plus last year, the range has more than doubled in size. Plus-Plus now comes in two different size options one suitable for 5 years plus and a bigger shaped piece Plus-Plus BIG suitable for 1-6 years. My fave picks this year are:
Plus-Plus BIG
*Plus-Plus BIG Basic tube – (15pcs) – RRP £7.00
*Plus-Plus BIG Pastel box set – (50pcs) – RRP £15.00
Plus-Plus

Kids are always fascinated by HEXBUG, and it’s easy to see why when they come up with products like the HEXBUG Ring Racer. This remote-controlled robot has two-speed modes and is self-stabilising. Perfect for creating stunts, spins and tumbles and it can even flip over a full 360 degrees! Batteries are included, and it can be recharged using the included USB cable. RRP £25.
Creative
Toys that inspire learning and experimentation are always a big hit and a great way to keep children entertained. The FabLab Invent-A-Scent Perfume set has five different scents that can be combined to create the perfect scent to match any personality or style – just like a professional perfumer! The set comes with full instructions, contains no harmful chemicals and is 100 non-toxic and hypo-allergenic. RRP £12.99.
Another great creative set is the So Bomb DIY Factory from Canal Toys. The set comes complete with everything you need to create six large bath bombs! Customise the perfect fizzy bomb by selecting your own choice of coloured powder and confetti. You can even hide a cute surprise! RRP £19.99
Slime is a huge and ever-growing trend amongst children right now, which means the So Slime DIY Slimelicious Station is going to be a huge hit! This set is the ultimate parents dream as it is no mess, no glue – just add water slime. The kit has enough supply to make 16 different slimes that can be customised with colour, scent and decoration. RRP £19.99.
Something Personalised
Prezzybox is one of my favourite place to shop for gifts because they have something for absolutely everybody all in one place. One of my fave finds from them this year is this Alphabet Letter Cushion. This 3D letter cushion is both soft and eye-catching. The full alphabet is available so perfect for spelling out a whole name, word or just an initial.
My Icon Story is a great place to shop for a personalised gift with a difference. Use their interactive platform to design your own piece of wall art using their extensive library of icons. They offer a vast selection of options and products that would make a great gift this holiday season. For children, I love the Natural History Museum Dinosaur Wooden Letter Blocks which will look perfect in the bedroom of a dinosaur fan!
Something to Read
Books are wonderful gifts for children just waiting to be unlocked with their imagination. I love a book that has a positive and inspiring theme, especially when it comes to children’s books and *DC Brave and Bold! Is exactly that. Filled with more than 50 inspiring and daring characters including Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Mera and Bumblebee this book is sure to excite any young DC fans. This is a book all about celebrating women from all different diverse backgrounds and highlighting their strengths and abilities. Each page is beautifully illustrated with comic book artwork making it visually captivating.
Lego is a welcomed addition in our house, and it’s especially useful for keeping the children entertained when it’s wet and miserable outside. Lego is also good for calming children down right before bed with the help of *The Lego Book of Bedtime Builds. I would never have considered Lego just before bed, but this book is a great way to wind down together, ready for sleep. Choose a different model each night to build, then read the story and decide what will happen next. It’s a great way to inspire imagination and positive dreams.
*The Wonders of Nature by Ben Hoare is a book that inspires and expands the curiosity of all things nature. There are 100 remarkable items displayed in both photograph and illustration. There are detailed up-close images and storybook descriptions that will excite little minds while also educating them. This is a beautiful book perfect for reading together before bedtime.
