Dogs Can Be Better Than People – Here’s Why

Dogs Can Be Better Than People – Here’s Why

Dogs Can Be Better Than People? Really?

I have made no secret of the fact I love my dogs. I sleep with Stitch, my French Bulldog every night. so much so, my husband feels like the ‘other’ man in our relationship. There are times when I unashamedly would rather hang out with my dog than real people. You see it’s just that dogs can be better than people sometimes and here’s why:

Dogs Don’t Tend to Judge

Well certainly not in the same way people do! My dog doesn’t care if I wear no make-up, am a little overweight or laugh too loudly. My dog sees me for who I am. His behaviour towards me is based entirely on my behaviour towards him.

Dogs can be better than people fawn french bulldog puppyThey Love Unconditionally

Stitch loves me for who I am and how I treat him. He loves without needing anything in return. My dog has love for everyone of any race, religion or background. He sees a person not a stereotype.

They Forgive, Even the Worst Injustice

You won’t see a dog holding a grudge for days. Dogs don’t hold your moments of weakness against you. They forgive easily and that is  a great way that dogs can be better than people.

Dogs are Good Listeners

A dog doesn’t talk over you or battle with you to get centre stage. Dogs just listen to whatever you have to say something we as humans don’t do enough.

Dogs Don’t Give Unhelpful or Biased Advice

A dog won’t push his political, religious or general views upon you. They wont advise you  off their own agenda or for personal gain. Dogs care little about whether you shop only organic or breastfed your child until he was four. These factors don’t come between a dog and their owner and that is one reason why dogs can be better than people!

Dogs can be better than people fawn french bulldog puppyYou Don’t See Dogs Turning Everything Back Around to Them

For a dog nothing is a competition. They see you as an ally not a competitor. They have no need to ‘one up you’ or make everything about them. They are slefless in the most spectacular way.

Dogs Don’t Say Mean Things When They’re Angry

When humans get angry their emotions flare and the situation becomes infantile. People shout, swear and worst of all say the meanest things. Things you would never dream of saying at any other time. Usually things you don’t mean but you know will hurt. You don’t see dogs doing that.

Dogs Don’t Lie

When a dog shows you love it’s from their heart. It isn’t fake or contrived it is only felt from within. The only lying dogs do is when they go to sleep!

Dogs can be better than people fawn french bulldog puppySo Can Dogs Be Better Than People?

Of course humans are humans and dogs are dogs but you see we as human beings could learn a lot from dogs. Sure dogs like to chase their tails and can be fickle when food is involved but ultimately they think with their heart, almost entirely selflessly whilst they do so and that has to in some way be admired. For these reasons I honestly believe dogs can be better than people.

My dog does everything with me!
I even let her choose whether I’m going to use a big or small bowl for my icecream. I’ll hold two bowls out in front of her and she’ll sniff them and nudge one of them, that’s the one I’ll be choosing.

She’s my best friend ever and I’m heartbroken knowing that she won’t be here for the rest of my life.

Your post is so very true. There is nothing like coming home from a difficult day to unconditional love from a pooch who only wants a little attention in return.

I love my dog he is part of the family he can sense when I’m stressed or upset and helps so much he doesn’t judge and I know that which helps so much he’s like one of my children.

I love this. I am a dog lover too. My oldest dog is a 13 yr old Sheltie and he is not only my companion but has taken on the role of protector and hearder for our kids too. Dogs are great and are def better companions than most people i know

Our eldest has done the same since we had our son. She is extremely protective over him especially around other dogs and strangers but I find it comforting! 🙂

I so agree! We have both cats and a dog – and I’ll confess I’m more the dog person in the house. I love having a dog who loves me without reserve and is always so happy to see me at night (the cats are more “meh” about everything).
