Christmas Decorating & Entertaining Inspiration

close up christmas tree

Every year I comment about how early it is to mention the word Christmas but in reality, if you want to be prepared, then Christmas isn’t all that far away. It’s a fact I have come to realise as I’ve grown older– that time stands still for no one, and before you can blink, the big day will be upon us. This time of year, I am typically busy preparing and collating my Christmas Gift Guides, but after much deliberation, I decided not to this year.

This year has been one of the best and worst years of my life, and I think cutting back on the work side of life will do wonders for my sanity. That said, regular followers will know that I moved into my dream house in June, and this will be the first Christmas we have spent here. So, for the first time in my whole adult life, I have an abundance of space to decorate and entertain, and I’ve put together a blog post featuring some of the wonderful items I adore that might help give you the inspiration to do the same.

Grinch Stealing Tree Figurine – The Grinch by Jim Shore

Everybody knows and loves the story of The Grinch. It’s a book our family have read every Christmas from as far back as I can remember and of course, we are firm fans of the film now too! That’s why when I saw that Jim Shore had a Grinch collection, I knew it would make the most perfect addition to any Christmas Décor! Sculpted from stone resin, the colourful figurine stands at 8″ and displays the iconic Christmas thief with a stolen Christmas tree. The collection includes a multitude of different figures in all shapes and sizes to suit any room or budget. Available to buy here.

“Let Your Joy Shine Bright” Gnome with Illuminated Christmas Tree Figurine – Heartwood Creek by Jim Shore

Gnomes are all the rage right now, and they fit in perfectly with any Christmas style. So whether you are a serious Gnome collector or you are looking for a one-item piece, I can assure you this Gnome is like no other. Featuring his very own tree hat with a star that lights up, this Gnome will brighten up any space and will surely be a talking point amongst guests. Standing at 23.0cm and is available to buy here.

Gnome Sweet Gnome Stemless Glass by Lolita

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without me mentioning Lolita. I own an abundance of glasses that are so unique and special that they really are fantastic talking points for parties or entertaining. They can brighten up even the most boring of drinks and look just as beautiful in hand or on display. So if you plan on entertaining over the holidays, these glasses are sure to be a hit. Each glass comes in a gift box, making them a great festive gift too! Available to buy here.

Ginology Christmas Rose Copa Gin Glass & Mistletoe Copa Gin Glass

Long-term readers will know I am indeed a lover of all things gin. You cannot beat a classic gin and tonic, or a festive gin cocktail doesn’t go a miss at this time of year.

So give your drinks a complete festive makeover with these Christmas gin glasses from Ginology. Each Ginology glass comes in a fully recyclable windowed kraft box, making them a great gift idea too. Perfect for entertaining or just enjoying your favourite drink with a touch of festive cheer! Available to buy individually here.

Eau Holy Night Christmas Candle by Eau Lovely

Christmas is all about the senses. We are often overloaded with sights and sounds but don’t forget the ever-important sense of smell. Christmas scents are my ultimate favourite, and I spend the last days of summer itching to smell some woodland fir and feel Christmassy. I have to tell you if you want a Christmas scent, then this Eau Lovely candle is for you. This gorgeous Christmas scent has hints of fresh cedar, orange and cinnamon and includes fresh pine needles! If you are looking for the perfect gift this year, then this could well be the one but let me warn you once you smell it, you’ll have a hard time parting with it! Available to buy here.

ARRAN Christmas Scented Candles

I was first introduced to ARRAN a few years ago and have become obsessed ever since. I always have their hand soap in the guest bathroom, which always gets visitors’ comments. This is my first experience with the Arran Scented Candle range, and they do not disappoint. They have three fragrances: Mandarin & Petitgrain, Hot Toddy and Coorie. I’ve been loving Coorie, which just feels like home when lit. A really comforting and inviting scent – perfect for curling up on the sofa and watching a festive film. Check out the full range and purchase here.

What I love about all of these items is that they make wonderful gifts for yourself or a loved one. I know it’s only November, but I can’t wait to get the decorations up and feel festive!

Thank you for stopping by! Check out my last post here.

Love as always!
