Declutter Your Home Like a Pro

We spend more time in our homes than most other places in our lives, which means that we want to do everything that we can to ensure that they look the best that they can. Of course, decorating them and having the right furniture in place is important, but you should never disregard just how vital it is to ensure that you declutter and organise your home too.

It can be hard to know where to start when it comes to tidying up, so to help you to find inspiration, we have put together our guide to how to declutter your home like a pro.

Start with the worst space

It is often the case that we think that we should start with the quick wins, just to get ourselves into the swing of things. But, this really isn’t the case. There is a good chance that you are going to tire out from tidying pretty quickly and if you are only focusing on the little messes then this won’t make that big an impact when you finally give in. It is much better to tackle the worst of it first, as that way when you are fed up, you won’t be able to quit as you will be halfway through something. Often the worst place in your garage, getting this out of the way first is only going to aid your efforts elsewhere as if you have a secure garage with a secure door form somewhere such as Mercian Doors, it is the perfect place for an organised storage system.

Be ruthless with what you throw out

When you are tidying up your home, you need to be strict with what you throw out and what you keep, after all, you will always end up keeping far too much stuff. You need to tell yourself to be strict with what you throw out. Remember that there is a reason that you are doing this decluttering and whilst you may have to face some tough decisions, they will all be worth it in the end.

Arrange to have your rubbish collected

The only trouble when you have had a good old-fashioned declutter of your home is that you are going to have a wealth of clutter left behind that you need to throw away. Unless you get rid of this relatively quickly, then you are going to have just as much mess (if not more) then you had in the first place. One great way to try and remove the rubbish as you make it is to organise a same-day rubbish removal. Which will help you to clear up your home and stop it from looking even messier.

Think clever about storage

Once you have tidied up and you are ready to re-organise, then you need to start thinking about the things that you want to store (and where you want to store them). Storage can be tricky to figure out, which means that sometimes you need to go outside the box. There are plenty of amazing storage hacks that you can try out for yourself, a simple search online can give you a wealth of results and sometimes the ideas are things that you may not have ever thought about yourself.

As you can see, decluttering doesn’t have to be a mystery. There are plenty of things that you can do to make it easier for yourself and to make sure that your home looks amazing in no time at all.
