Time for Reflection
It’s the 31st of December 2016 and I can’t quite believe where this last year has gone. Christmas came and went in record time and although I am sad that the festive period has passed I am also incredibly focused on bringing in the new year with a clean slate and a fresh start. I’m not going to bore you with the cliché ‘new year, new me’ but I do intend to set goals and smash them. In fact, that’s my new year’s resolution this year, to really challenge myself.
2016
In 2016 we lost a lot of iconic people: David Bowie, Prince & Carrie Fisher to name just a few. Then there was the whole Brexit debacle followed shortly by the election of Trump in the US! Brangelina became… Well, just Brad and Angelina again. Two of my greatest friends got engaged, I successfully stalked McFly with my best friend and we saw Busted reunite and slay it on stage in Manchester. 2016 was also full of lessons and taught me how to distinguish who and what is worth my time. That just because people are smiling to your face doesn’t mean they are your friend or ally. Ultimately love conquers all and can be found in even the darkest of moments. 2016 was kind to me, my health was far more stable and my family and I embarked on many adventures. We laughed, we cried but most of all we were together, a unit and that’s the only place I ever want to be.
So 2017 I hope you are exciting, fun and as gracious as 2016. Teach me new lessons and help me grow as a person. I know this new year won’t always be easy, that sometimes the lows will outweigh the highs but I am happy and I am loved and with the support of those around me, I know I can achieve anything.
Come at me 2017 I’m ready for you!!!
Happy new year to everyone let’s make some awesome memories!!!
