A Review of Lovely Memories Wax

I’ve always been a fan of a good scented candle. I can’t tell you how much money I must have spent on them over the last few years. I have to admit though that I always tend to go for the brands I know I can trust. Too many times I’ve bought a cheaper alternative that looks and smells the part initially but actually has no smell once lit. The same is sadly said for wax melts, tea lights and reed diffusers. For this reason I don’t often even sample other brands because I’ve felt so let down in the past. Could Lovely Memories Wax change that?

How I Found Lovely Memories Wax

Lovely Memories Wax first caught my eye on Instagram. I honestly thought they must sell sweets because the creations looked good enough to eat. Every picture is filled with vibrant colours and gorgeous shapes that I only wish you could smell through the screen!!

Daisy, founder of Lovely Memories wax, creates a fabulous and extensive range of eco soy wax melts, in a range of different fragrances to suit any preference. I was lucky enough to be sent a fabulous selection to try and review. I have to say I wasn’t left disappointed.

Wicked Love Potion

The only thing that I dislike about this melt is the fact it is a limited edition scent for February! It is still available to buy through the Lovely Memories Wax Etsy shop but I couldn’t tell you how long for. I loved the jasmine tones to this scent and on the Etsy shop it says that it is comparable to the Victoria’s Secret Scent, Love Spell. The melt is in the form of a cute little heart that is a great size and packs a huge fragrance punch without smelling artificial or heavily perfumed.

Tropical Watermelon

As the name describes this is a sweet, mouth-watering scent that reminds me of summer cocktails on holiday! This is a perfect scent for those Summer months and the colours are vibrant and bold.

Cinnamon Buns

I often find with food scented fragrances they are missing something. The smell is far too often excessively perfumed and there is a clear sign it is artificial. However I have to say this is the melt that most surpassed my expectations. I feel like the scent is extremely authentic, strong and long-lasting. This is a great scent for in the kitchen and reminds me of that homely scent I would smell when my Granny would bake on Sunday afternoons. This is a large-sized wax melt and can be cut into pieces.

Mediterranean Spa 

Daisy tells me that this is her favourite melt so I was intrigued to give this one a whirl! This melt is finished with some added sparkle using biodegradable and non toxic glitter! I found I most liked to burn this scent when I was taking time out to relax. It is such a clean, fresh scent that reminded me of laying outside on a Summers day and with all this rain we have had recently it was nice to envision some nicer weather! Of course I love the glitter from this melt but the pale green is such a gorgeous shade too!

Blush Pink Peonies

In the shape of a pale pink flower this melt has a gorgeous floral scent that, when burning reminds me of flowers in bloom. Sometimes floral scents are overpowering when actually if you smell flowers naturally the scent is much softer and more subtle. I imagine that’s a hard thing to replicate! This melt has however has a scent subtle enough to smell authentic without being bland or underwhelming. I’d say the scent itself is strong but the tones are subtle, a lot like that of an actual flower! Pink is of course my favourite colour and I love the design. I think the colour of the melt matches the scent beautifully and if you are a floral fan this will definitely suit you!!

Unicorn Wishes

I was most excited to try this melt if I am entirely honest. It reminds me hugely in appearance of the Lush Unicorn Horn bubble bar which I absolutely LOVE! I’m also a massive unicorn fan and I knew this would be a pretty melt visually as well as fragrant wise. I’d describe this scent as fun and perfect for any occasion where you want something lighthearted. Its sweet and fruity and also has a sprinkling of biodegradable, non toxic glitter. Of course I am SOLD!!! TOP TIP: This is a large-sized wax melt and can be cut in half.

Rhubarb and Custard Ring

Have you ever eaten a Rhubarb and Custard hard-boiled sweet? That is exactly what this melt smells like!! The scent itself reminds me of being by the seaside on a hot summers day and despite the fact I have a very special spot of Unicorn Wishes this is my absolute favourite!!! This is a brand new flavour that has only just been released so I feel privileged to be one of the first people to try it! It’s a large-sized melt weighing an amazing 40g so can be cut into smaller pieces! Fabulous value for money too!!

It’s also important to note that all of Daisy’s wax melts can be melted and re-used several times whilst keeping their strong scent. I found that they all burnt cleanly, without creating a smoke or a burn smell.

My Honest Overall Review

After having such poor experiences experimenting with alternative brands of scented candles and wax melts in the past I was actually completely surprised that such a small wax melt such as the Blush Pink Peonies could pack such a scented punch without feeling heavily perfumed or artificial. The prices of Daisy’s Etsy store is, in comparison to brands on the market, much lower and I am a big believer that you get what you pay for. However it is evident that in this case you can pay more for a similar product and just be paying for the name as these melts far succeed some I have purchased from high-end brands in the past.

Every singl wax melt was well made and didn’t melt in my hands or feel tacky or cheap. They are also all long-lasting, easy to use and beautiful to look at. The scent doesn’t burn off after a few minutes either so expect to get good value for money!
