Eight Week Weight Loss Challenge

French bulldog being held

I have spoken very openly about my weight loss journey back in January. I decided that my weight shouldn’t define who I am and therefore I began Slimming World from home. Since then I have been to a few Slimming World groups and continued in my weight loss journey however life, as it does, got in the way and therefore I found that I slipped into old habits! I have decided to start an eight week weight loss challenge where I am going to stick to the Slimming World principles and aim to loose a stone just in time for Christmas party season.

Eight Week Weight Loss Challenge

I know that if I can loose just a stone before the festive party season I will feel more confident, comfortable and happy in my body. A stone loss in eight weeks is very achievable and is less than 2 pounds a week! I know that the Slimming World principles work as I have lost weight this way before but this time I just need a little challenge to get me back on track.

Why Did I Stop Slimming World?

I stopped Slimming world back in April because I was struggling with some health issues. On the back of this I realised I had prescription painkiller addiction and I underwent a full cold turkey detox which was extremely difficult. During this process my body went through complete turmoil. I didn’t sleep for a week and I felt like I had been hit by a bus. In order to make my withdrawal and recovery easier I dropped all diet and weight loss goals and concentrated on whatever would help me feel better. I indulged but mostly I was just kind to myself and allowed myself the time to go through this process.

It’s been four months now and I feel much stronger and able to commit back to my weight loss goals.

I have never had to lose weight before, I’ve always been in the ‘safe’ zone, I’ve never tried to stay in shape or anything like that! But over the past two years I’ve put on 2 stone ish and although I’m trying to love my curvier figure, I do want to shape up a bit. The motivation is just hard! but I definitely want to try and commit and do my utmost, 8 weeks with about 2lbs a week sounds reasonable and not too overbearing so I’m going to give this a blast!

Thanks for the freebie form =)

Thank you for your blog and all of the useful slimming world information. A friend of mine went to classes and has kindly given me the app via her login so with this information and the app I can follow the plan without attending classes – which suits me far better.

Red days and green days and you can only eat some things on some days ? Can’t remember the basics other than 2 from healthy option A, l1 from healthy option B and free foods and count your sins allow between 5-15 to loose weight
Can you let me know anything else I need to know like the red/green days and what you can eat on each as I can’t remember
    Can’t wait to get started
    Thank you again.

You are truly inspiring. Like you I have lost in the past, but life got in the way and I just couldn’t get my head back into it. Your stories are well recorded. Just one thing I can’t remember and didn’t see on your site. When does Syns reduce, and how many do the reduce by? Also do men still get more than women?
    Any advice would be appreciated.

You are very kind and I really appreciate that! In regards to syns it’s 5-15 per day for life for everyone male or female. Some people with a higher starting weight can have more initially (I think it’s 20) but I couldn’t say for definite what the requirements are for that I’m sorry!!
