Slimming World Essentials To Help Aid Success

Slimming World Essentials To Help Aid Success

I’ve been talking all things Slimming World lately, and as I’ve mentioned, I have restarted my Slimming World journey for 2019. I really want to reach my target weight and look and feel healthier at the same time. A few of you have been asking if there are any Slimming World essentials I would recommend and I’ve been sharing with you the things that I have found to really help me, but I thought it might be beneficial to have them all in one place, so I’ve put together this list.

Slimming World Essentials

Like with any lifestyle or diet change it does take a bit of trial and error. It’s about finding what works for you and then running with to maximise your success. These are the things I have found really helpful on my Slimming World journey in the past, and I would label them my Slimming World essentials! I will add to the list whenever I find something new so make sure you bookmark it!

Twisting My Melons Man

Melon is an absolute Slimming World essential for me. It doesn’t matter which kind! Melon isn’t only a free food on Slimming World it is also a speed food and combined with the fact that it is sweet, juicy and delicious makes it a great food to incorporate into your plan.

Weights and Measures

A considerable part of the plan is all about cooking from scratch with flavoursome ingredients. The key to creating a great recipe is measuring out your ingredients accurately. I use these:

*Measuring Spoons  – Great for measuring spices or liquids as they have both the ml measurement and spoon measurement. They are dishwasher safe so it makes cleaning them super easy and convienient.

*Measuring Cups – Perfect for measuring out larger quantities they are dishwasher safe and stackable.
*Digital Food Weighing Scales – Accurate and easy to store these scales are simple to use.

Herbs, Spices and Flavour

Success on Slimming World is all about flavour. There is this misconception that eating healthy means that you have to sacrifice flavour and taste and on Slimming World that is just not correct. You can add flavour from many different sources without it costing you a syn point! My Slimming World essentials would be seasoning such as herbs, spices and different kinds of vinegar. Without these, my dishes would ultimately be bland, and it would see me reaching for foods that are off plan!

Tracking Your Fitness

A fitness tracker is a great motivator to help you get in more steps each day. Some trackers also follow your sleep so you can see exactly how well you are sleeping each night too. This is an absolute Slimming World essential if you really want to overhaul your whole lifestyle. There are many different fitness trackers available for all different budgets, and I have personally tried these three. There is a low budget range, mid-budget range and a higher budget range. All do the same primary function but as the budget increases so do the number of features and the accuracy. Currently, I am using the mid-range as it is perfect for my current needs.

Budget Range: LETSCOM Fitness Tracker*

Mid-Range: *Fitbit Charge 2

Higher Range: *Garmin Vivoactive 3

At Home Weigh-Ins

If you are attending a Slimming World group each week, then you probably won’t want to weigh yourself at home. Scales vary inaccuracy, and you can weigh slightly different on different scales, so this can be contradictive information. However, if you are going it alone at home or you just want to have extra weigh-ins then purchasing a good quality set of scales is essential. I have tried many different scales, but I find the ones that also measure you BMI and muscle mass are the most accurate. The ones I am currently using are:

*Huawei Smart Scale – You connect them to your phone using an app and they are simple to use and accurate!

Sweet Treats

I’m a real sweet tooth, and my biggest downfall is craving something sweet in the evenings. I love the Slimming World HiFi Bars, and they can be used as part of your HexB choice or syned if you want a treat. Another Slimming World essential I have found recently is Halo Top ice cream available in a range of delicious flavours and even has dairy free options! What’s even better is that most of the popular flavours have a syn value of 15-20 syns for the entire tub! I’ve found a great selection of flavours in my local Tesco so make sure you look out for them if you like a sweet treat!

Hi Pat I glad you are finding things useful!! Sweet tooth wise it depends what you like for grab on the go kind of snacks I like the Fibre One bars and brownies they do a lemon slice which is delicious with a cup of tea – feels like a real treat and means I don’t feel tempted by my kids treats.
